Following a tenter, the French brand Maisons du Monde selected, Kuehne+Nagel France, for its expertise in logistics and more especially in Lean management (continuous improvement process).
Our teams will therefore use the Maisons du Monde BtoB and BtoC logistics platform, that will serve their stores in the 50 departments above a Bordeaux-Lyon line, e-commerce customers, in particular for large products and stores in European countries: Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Benelux for furniture, decoration and sofa items.
Moreover, from the openning of the first three manual preparation cells in July 2022, it is expected to employ 35 people, then a total of more than 100 employees within 2 years, when the other 6 cells will be delivered in mid-2023. These cells will be equipped with a “massively modular” goods-to-man system, signed Viastore, a method of executing orders based on automated systems (storage, conveying and / or AGV / AMR) making it possible to transport at a fixed workstation the products necessary for the constitution of an order or an operation. The objective is to reduce the movements of operators to allow them to work on ergonomic positions and to increase the productivity of operations.
“This is the first time we work with an external logistics partner. With 40% of our online sales in 2020, our e-commerce activities are increasing year by year. To respond to this increase, we chose Kuehne+Nagel for its expertise, its strong involvement in continuous improvement and its mastery in the management of hybrid BtoB / BtoC warehouses to guarantee optimal service for our stores and our customers ” declared Julien Vigouroux, Supply Chain Director of Maisons du Monde.
